IVB Industrievertretungen is a private firm based in Austria and founded in 1990. We set ourselves the goal of living and promoting recycling metals through our already growing network of international business partners.
In the 1990’s the opening up of new markets in eastern Europe offered the opportunity to introduce new more flexible business structures to replace those of the state. As the old structures of the east crumbled, we were able to introduce private enterprise to the business of recycling of metals. We chose initially to focus on the recycling of used vehicular batteries in Hungary.
Recycling in Hungary was limited in its scope but after securing a partnership with the Hungarian MEH Trust we were able to cooperate with a network of business partners for the collection of used vehicular batteries. The collected batteries were then largely exported to our business partners in western Europe who had an ever-expanding demand. We developed our network of used battery collection and met the demand of our customers who needed lead until we were one of the largest private used battery wholesalers in Hungary. An important element of this business was the use of reliable transport companies who are an essential cornerstone for long term business relationships that continue to this day.
The building of a network of reliable partners was essential to our business success. Long term business relationships have developed trust and commitment to fulfil mutual benefits and meet the cost-effective needs of customers.
Recycling expanded quickly to include other waste streams. Because of strategic reasons IVB Metallhandel was established in 2006 and lead to an expanding product range including different chemicals and metals. Today we are active in 15 countries all over the world served by a network of business partners.
